AVON HAWKS AIR RIFLE CLUB is situated close to Churchill, a few miles south of Bristol Airport on the A38. The shooting area is in a secluded woodland setting in the Mendip hills.

We welcome all airgunners of all standards from beginner to expert, and MOST weapon types (rifle, pistol, spring, pre-charged or CO2, EXCEPT those weapons which combine the air supply and pellet in one cartridge) provided their weapons are at or below the legal limit. The only point we insist on is that members handle guns in a safe and responsible manner, or are prepared to be taught how to do so.

We have a practice range with card and knock-down targets out to 65 yards, this range has a covered firing point. In addition there are several side-shoots, and a full size Field Target course which is recognised as one of the best in the region (while we would like to have more members taking part in Field Target competitions, we appreciate that not everyone is interested in competing, so while we will give every encouragement to those who wish to take part we don't insist on it).

Potential new members must attend for four weeks (at a visitors fee of £1 per week), before being accepted for membership. Membership costs £24 for a full year, pro-rata for those joining later in the year. These figures are halved for juniors and students. There is also a (returnable) £15 key deposit, but no weekly fees are payable.

Please note that we shoot only on Sundays, and that as access to our ground is through two padlocked gates, visits must be made by prior arrangement with the treasurer, secretary or another member.
